It was a pleasure to be a student of Shiva sir in my journey of Anthropology for upsc. As an aspirant from Kerala, who was unaware of the needs & appropriate approach towards the optional and who was misguided a lot in the beginning, connecting with sir was one of the best decisions I took in my journey. Sir simplifies entire Anthropology in a very easy manner so that every student, be it beginner or veteran, don't have to do the ginormous task of going through many books to cover the bulk of the portion while covering everything holistically. The approach towards optional by sir is very simple, provided if you follow it diligently. On Paper 1, Socio-cultural, one of the most conceptual parts of the syllabus was broken down easily, conceptual clarity is very crucial in this area and it was done very nicely, taking the required amount of time, clarifying all the doubts you may encounter in between. Likewise Physical Anthropology, which many students seem to think tough because of the biological part was done very crisply. In Paper 2, Archaeology which could turn out to be very vast if not done properly, was carefully done so as to cover everything essential related to the syllabus, while not spending too much time. Likewise Indian Anthropology and Tribal Anthropology felt like a cakewalk in the course. Daily evaluation of answer sheets enables rectification of mistakes and understanding the needs of upsc. Whatever sir provides is more than sufficient to crack the paper with very good marks, provided if you follow it diligently!
